Services & Benefits

What membership in this practice provides

Concierge care is, at heart, a decision about time: fewer patients, longer visits, and a physician who answers when you call.

The Value of Concierge Care

Medicine practiced the way it should be

Conventional primary care asks a physician to carry thousands of patients. Visits shorten, follow-up thins out, and prevention gives way to whatever is most urgent that morning. By limiting membership, Dr. Palmer reverses that arithmetic — a smaller practice means appointments that begin on time, run as long as they need to, and are grounded in a full knowledge of your history.

Members reach their physician directly, are seen the same or next business day, and keep the same attending doctor if they are admitted to the hospital. It is a return to the continuity that made primary care valuable in the first place.

Enhanced Office Experience

Same day or next business day appointments

With the exception of your annual exam, this is available even for non-urgent medical problems.

Little or no office waiting, and longer appointments when needed

Annual exams are scheduled for a minimum of 60 minutes and all other appointments for 30 minutes, allowing adequate time to answer all of your questions and address all of your concerns.

Strong focus on preventative medicine and long-term wellness

My philosophy is to educate you about your personal medical needs and risks. I will work with you to assess your level of fitness and determine an appropriate individual wellness plan, empowering you to take an active role in maintaining good health.

Convenient Communications

Direct phone communication with me or my medical assistant during office hours

All phone calls will be returned promptly. If you deem your problem urgent, I will make every effort to speak with you at the time of your call.

Patient-dedicated cell phone number

This makes it easy to reach me for urgent medical problems outside of regular office hours. Ideally, I want to hear from you when you are ill or injured before you go to the hospital or an urgent care center. In an emergency, call 911 first.

Your annual exam results provided electronically

After your annual exam you receive an electronic version of your current medical information and data, so it is at your fingertips when you are traveling or whenever you may need it.

Email for non-urgent health issues or questions

You will receive a prompt response, usually within 24 hours. Please recognize that email is not a secure form of communication; responses will be at my discretion.

Highly Personalized Care

Personal hospital care

If you are hospitalized I continue to serve as your attending medical physician and advocate for your care. You will not be seen by a hospitalist.

Priority referrals to Rush specialists

Longstanding relationships at Rush University Medical Center let me reach colleagues directly, arrange consultations quickly and send your records ahead of the visit.

Coverage when I am unavailable

During the infrequent times that I am away, a respected colleague provides coverage for my patients.

Care for visiting family and friends

Should your family or friends become ill during a visit, I will assist with their medical care.

Travel medicine consultation

I offer guidance on CDC recommended inoculations and precautions to be taken while traveling.
